
The Broadstone Link is produced by myself, Karen Foreman, a local resident. I came across the idea when searching for flexible, enjoyable work to fit in with my busy family life. Realizing there was a gap in the market for a local business and community publication, using the IT skills I had gained over the years, I decided that along with other experience, this could be the rewarding role I had been looking for. The first magazine was distributed in December 2005 and has since continued to expand and develop with regular input from various sources.
The purpose of The Broadstone Link is to support the local businesses that operate within or close to the area. Studies show that people like to “buy locally” whenever they can and now the readers have a free reference guide to enable them to do just that. Advertisers have an affordable way to reach local people which in turn will have a positive impact on the local economy.
I always welcome feedback and new ideas and suggestions on further developing the magazine
